texstudio > configure > language checking > word repetition > "words between repetitions"=0 does not work, you have to put "words between repetitions=1" to find repeated word with none words between them such as "as as".
OK, it looks like the first time I run Texstudio on this computer, Texstudio might have been fetching some packages. On subsequent runs, I caught it read/writing in the 1--3 MBps, with an interesting peak at 7 MBps (pic. attached). Is this normal? Is there anything I can disable to make it go faster?
CrystaDiskMark results attached, hard for me to interpret, but everything is above 13 MBps, well above the 0.5 MBps that Resource Monitor reports when Texstudio is working hardest. I am working on a 500 page textbook, 12 chapters, lots of figures, equations, tables. It takes a long time to compile each correction. While I wait, I looked at Windows Resource Monitor (RM). The max. disk transfer is 1 MB/sec. Often less, like 400-500 KB/sec. I looked up the definition of MB/sec for RM specifically, it is 1 MegaByte/sec . According to another site "a typical hard drive speed is 128 MBps. A mid-level SSD will deliver between 500 and 600 MBps," with MBps meaning Mega Byte/sec (as...
Is there a windows backup softwarethat does not use proprietary formatted backup images that I can restore with clonezilla or other totally free app. I am using WinServerBackup app that comes with Win Server 2008 R2, using an external drive, say \root, as target to store the backup. By \root I mean whatver drive letter Windows assigns to your target backup drive. WinServerBackup writes the the backup on a protected folder called WindowsImageBackup that has to be on the \root of the target disk. You...
I just want to make sure this ticket remains open and hopefully resolved. I am not a programmer, just a user of TextStudio. Like may people, I have onset carpal tunnel issues from excesive use of the mouse, pen, touch tablet, ball, whatever input device that requires your hand to be flat on your desk. I bought a 21" touch monitor, a 22" at the office, I use and iPad, a touch screen on my laptop, man this is not the future, it is what it is. It is wondeful. No more issues with my hand. Windows 10...
It's been a year since my last post and I want to report how pleased I am with Windows 10 touch devices. Of course MSOffice and Adobe Cloud work great with touch devices like the touch screen that I attached to my desktop (big buttons, scroll with your finger, gestures, etc.). The only remnant software where I cannot swipe up and down to scroll are texstudio and Jabref. I looked at alternatives but I do not want to sacrifice the JabRef integration, so I am stuck waiting for someone to fix texstudio...
Does anyone know an alternative to TeXstudio that has "touch" support? I migrated...
