little update on this: PBP can now probably considered obsolete, while CHD is getting a lot of support recently. I suggest to take a look at this library for CHD read support.

Same problem here on linux using the latest v7.0 portable. It takes some seconds the open even very small archives, while Ark opens them instantly.
