I have found it difficult to track down what one is causing the issue. I think now that it is a modified version of this file that is then re-modified that is causing the issue. Is the order that you listed the png modifying program in the order of exicution? If I know the order I think I can find the modified version of the image that gets changed every time, and the program that changed it.

ok, so perhaps the image is not broken. But it is certanly not a lossless savings, considering that 1/3 of the original colouring is now dramatically different.

hmm. I tried deleting and adding compression programs in and out of the plugins but didn't get anywehre. Can you tell me what programs compress .png files?

This might just be me. We switchched from svn to git and it appears as though most of the files are the same. It is just flagging them as different somehow. Not sure why. But I can verify that the contentes are identical in most cases. So sorry for the noise. I do however have a real bug to report.
