Yes Blackhole just allows you to create a virtual audio input. Then in whatever video/streaming app you use - StreamYard, Zoom, etc. just select that as your audio source (in place of internal mic). Note that only one player does this - the others just mute their video app input. On Tue, Dec 29, 2020 at 9:40 AM Clara Chan claraschan@users.sourceforge.net wrote: Thanks Doug! Check out my comment on this thread https://sourceforge.net/p/llcon/discussion/533517/thread/c4dae9e17e/#6339/c807/0ff1 Once you get the Blackhole piece worked out, I think you will want to adjust the Zoom audio settings under Audio/Music and Professional Audio to turn off the noise suppression, etc. so you just get the original unprocessed sound.

We are running the Jamulus client output audio into StreamYard for video on a single laptop. Details here: https://sourceforge.net/p/llcon/discussion/533517/thread/c4dae9e17e/#6339

You should be able to go into Mac System Preferences and under Security & Privacy tell it to open the app even though developer not verified

We're all within 30 miles of each other (and within 20 miles of the server at AWS East). This week we will try rehearsal with our guitarist on vacation 200 miles away - fingers crossed. Two members are on fiber (Verizon FiOS) and two are on cable modems. My service is 300Mbps down, 30 up - but I never actually see 30 up - usually 10-15. I do the streaming so that seems to be enough. My Jamulus ping time hovers around 13ms and delay in the 35ms range. Next livestream planned for June 27, 7pm US Eastern time

In the MOD, I have Blackhole as master (although I'm not sure it matters). 48.0 KHz is right. In StreamYard, only the one player who is feeding the Jamulus mix into the stream should be unmuted - all other players should be muted in StreamYard. Also, make sure if players have their StreamYard output set to the default internal speaker, they should make sure to turn their speaker volume off. Pierce - did you get this working after the MOD change? One note: in the StreamYard audio settings, having BlackHole as the mic is good, but I'm not sure that you want the Scarlett as the output. I have my output set to some other random audio device. P.S. Not sure what you mean by "I can hear the test sound on my video" - something other than your guitar? I still think you need to try to get that little speaker icon next to your MOD instead of the PreSonus via "Use This Device for Sound Output". Also, if you highlight the Blackhole item in the Audio MIDI app left panel, check that the master level slider is set all the way up and unmuted.

In StrreamYard try setting Speaker to something other than your Blackhole+Firestudio (you don't want to hear the StreamYard output anyway)

  • Doug Sharpe Doug Sharpe posted a comment on discussion Open Discussion

Within the Audio MIDI Setup left panel, right-click on your Blackhole+Firestudio item, then select "Use This Device for Sound Output".

All of our individual live audio performances get combined on the Jamulus server and then sent back to our laptops. On the one person's laptop who is doing the streaming, that Jamulus audio output gets split into two directions - one to that player's Focusrite audio interface for headphone monitoring - and the other to a "virtual audio driver (VAD)". That VAD is then used as the audio input source for the video livestream in StreamYard. The streaming host controls the mix between the players on their...

I didn't do anything special on the server setup, other than install the low-latency kernel. Never tried without that so don't know if better or worse. I started on t3a.micro but decided to move up to m5a.large since it has much faster networking (and its only $0.09/hour!).

My classic rock cover band Curtis Knocking (www.curtisknocking.com) is based in Northern Virginia, USA. We did our first livestream show on Facebook last weekend using a Jamulus server at AWS East and it worked great. https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=1716023701871455&ref=watch_permalink The EC2 server is running Ubuntu 18.04 with low-latency kernel on an m5a.large instance. The Jamulus audio output was merged with live video of the players in the StreamYard app and streamed to Facebook. Other...
