Let me guess, it's in a version after 1.3-1 ? BTW, I am still running stretch o/s. Before you say it, yes I am running an old version of NCID and Pi O/S. But then the saying goes: If it ain't broke don't fix it. And it still runs like a charm. I have been looking for a reason to upgrade the PI (or a different 2B) and NCID. PI's are really, really hard to find these days. Any avoid suggestions for my upgrading project ? like: not using 64 bit or other ? Happy to hear from you John, Thanks

Nothing special, I need to go in and out of a serial port on a raspberry from a windows machine. Anything I have seen involved windows to windows virtual comm porting. Basicly I need to talk to a FTDI device on a raspberry via ethernet or wifi. In the testing part of the code of NCID I saw this ability. Just want to use it elswhere. Neither a modem or NCID software will be used.

I found by looking over some of the code. Commands to simulate a modem are used to send data to and from the serial port. No real modem is used. Basicly a virtual comm port is setup. I have tried to understand and use this process. (Failed). Can you be elaborate and discribe howto do this ? I have a pc (win10) and a raspberry (debian). I am very interested in getting a virtual comm port going. Both for home and work. Once I fully understand it, I can expand upon what I want to do. Thanks

Specificly targeting a raspberry PI, but any version of linux is possible too. Just a word of warning. It's ment to target one ether interface, be it wired or wireless. Best on wired interfaces. If you are using more than 1 ether path on your linux box. You will have to change things. One interface an amatuer could do it. Got more than one. Investigate how pi-hole will change things. And determine if it will work for you. It does works good. Found things even Ublock origin did not block. It's got...

Would it be possible to change click option: Search rotated and mirror image dupls Into two seperate functions. I wish to decrease the amount of time spent in searching. I don't care to find as much rotated than mirrored images. Thanks

I am going to massage the script a bit more, like argument passing, using column sort. Possibly send the resulting blacklist directly into gedit. Forcing a final visual edit (artifacts). Maybe a second script to speed up the backup/copy the new blacklist. I am setting up a pastebin account to pass along shared blacklists. Each user wishing to join in, should also setup there own pastebin account. Before you say it, not everyone wants to subscribe to sourceforge. And subscribing is the only way to...

Kilroy was here. And So was I. change cat bl.data >> ncidd.blacklist to this cat bl.tmp >> ncidd.blacklist Otherewise all that happens is "your list" gets appended to ncidd.blacklist with no unique sort. And I wish linux sort was like the popular windows QSORT, then I could specify which columns to sort by. A commented line is unique from a line with the same PH#. Results in a dupe. There are other artifacts, which require some touch-ups. But it works.
