Ubuntu. echo $DESKTOP_SESSION answers: gnome-flashback-metacity Flashback is an old style GNOME desktop. (Style GNOME 2? A classical desktop with menus, not a smartphone style as of today.) It is old style but based on modern GNOME code.

At 48/80, I made a new OmegaT project in my usual way and configuration, with the same source (and in auto the memory of the 48 segments). Plenty of proposals of a rich Glossary plus Saisie automatique, but no blocking events. My configuration does not seem that worse than no configuration.

I did (with -Xmx… :-). A new project. Choose a folder for the project but accepted all default Properties. Blocked on segment 13/80. Still curioser: typing was blocked without local window with a proposal. Got out of this with Ctrl and the proposal appeared then. Other event at 48/80 this time with dialog Saisie historique. I began typing «d'attente» but then came the blocking proposal «d'autres». Ctrl closed the dialog, showing «d'attttt». I cannot know if I really insisted on «t». If I delete and...

These blocking event seem to be spread equally all along a translation job, not worsening with time. Last test yesterday had fist event in segment 23/214.

This was with 214 segments, in usual situation with TMX and glossary, and the same in the naked test, with event on the 23rd on 214. I would be boring to translate again the same a third time, and certainly not today. (Now 17 h here.) I'm afraid I shall have too much other work tomorrow. But maybe…

This was in the middle of the project (2 200 words). Subjectively, I had ten blocking events in the first half and maybe five (with more memory) in the second half. Anyway the problem persists. Does it make sense to try twice 4096? Much more? What are the consequences on the session, on other applications like LibreOffice Writer? (I am not used to allocate memory. I never thought about it. Does not the GNOME session allocate a fair share to all applications? What about trying OmegaT without a priori...

I did now. Nothing but the same source of the last job and the choice to ignore tags in the source. All other project subfolders empty. I still get, after 22 segments, a blocking event (no Esc, no Return) with Saisie historique. I did type «de sorte que s'» and Saisie historique blocks at «que» proposing «questionnaire» or «questionnaires». I see «que s'» appearing on unblocking with Ctrl.
