Thank you for reporting this bug, and I'm sorry that I didn't see it for three years! So part of this bug is finding out why I'm no longer getting SourceForge notifications. With the current version, the only solution I have is to create a new piece and delete the old one (not a very good solution). Clearly I am not handling face removal correctly on the back end (e.g. actually removing the face from the face list upon removal). But now I have a good reason to dust of the old development environment...
