I have limited computer knowledge. I stated the steps I took and the game didn't work--like it isn't seeing Java?

Open a teminal window How do I do that?

I have Java 12 (it is enabled and I restarted the computer), and the latest freecol (0.12.0), and when I click on the freecol app, nothing happens. Any ideas?

Chrome works differently on my Android smartphone than it does on my Ubuntu Linux desktop machine. WOW! Does that work on your machine? "Default behavior Sites automatically follow this setting when you visit them Sites can use Javascript"

Settings/Advanced/Site Settings/Javascript I can find settings/advanced but there is no Site Settings under that. It does appear under Security and Privacy and Javascript is enabled. enable /allow javascript temporarily for the oracle site and you will see those tabs and links . Did that for Oracle and there's no tabs.

How do I do that? I'm using Google Chrome. I looked under settings*, security and privacy and see nothing ab't Java. also found that under settings: "Default behavior Sites automatically follow this setting when you visit them "Sites can use Javascript" is checked.
