Another point for you, I attempted to report this bug by the link http://www.info-zip.org/zip-bug.html but it results in an error about an empty README or some such.

I am encountering a problem that may be with Enigmail 2.0.9, the latest available SeaMonkey extension from 2018-12-09, when I attempt to compose an S/MIME signed or encrypted message. I have attached the debug log to this post. I should note that this extension is missing the Debugging menu. I had to manually set extensions.enigmail.logDirectory to capture this log. The behavior I see is that when I request an S/MIME signed email I cannot send it. It even errors when attempting to save a draft: Save...

I am aware of the Adele adele-en@gnupp.de and edward-en@fsf.org robot email addresses for testing PGP encryption setup. Is there a similar robot email address available for testing S/MIME functionality? If so, I have been unable to locate one. Alternatively, is there anyone here using S/MIME willing to exchange test messages so that I can confirm I have things configured correctly? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer. Dave

The official 2.49.5 build is now released. I hope you will make it available quickly. I understand that progress is being made on 2.53 as well, but I have no idea when it will be released.

Thank you for your response, I believe you have pointed me in the right direction. I have obtained a certificate from Actalis and am now able to send signed S/MIME email. I have sent signed email to him and he has confirmed receiving them with the signature in O365. Thus far, however, I have yet to receive a signed email from him. This is even in response to my signed email messages. I have asked him to find out from his IT people how to send me a signed email, as without the signature I have no...

I want to be able to exchange encrypted email with my insurance agent who uses Office 365 (OME) and I have no idea what is necessary to do so. I have my public/private key pair and can confirm proper operation with the robots and one other user with PGP/MIME. What little searching I have done appears to indicate I need to use S/MIME for this purpose. Am I correct about this? I do not appear to have that option installed at this point, as the radio button to select it when creating a new message is...

My pass phrase is being remembered somewhere. Here is the behavior I observe: I had to restart SeaMonkey this morning. After starting it if I select a message that has encryption a pop-up requests my pass phrase. At the same time SeaMonkey opens a pop-up offering to save the password. As I cannot remember my pass phrase I cancel out of this and the message is not displayed and an error message shows that the pass phrase is missing. I created a new message to edward-en@fsf.org signed and encrypted....

I have the Enigmail 2.0.9 plug-in installed with SeaMonkey x64 2.49.4 on my linux mint x64 18.3 (sylvia) system and am encountering an unusual problem with pass phrase prompting. This only came to my attention recently, as I actually attempted to use the plug-in for the first time yesterday after installing it back in October, 2018 here. I have no problem sending a signed or encrypted message, as when I installed the plug-in and sent some initially signed emails to people I hoped to share encrypted...

Somehow I screwed up the link above, you need to past the text into your browser instead of clicking on it. One issue to keep in mind with this as well is the note on that page about the differences in library requirements with these builds. I am trying to get that met on my system and if you can tell me where to get the 6.0.23 version of the libstdc++ library for ubuntu xenial I would appreciate it.
