Hi Corey, thank you so much for your answer. I know these USB serial adapters of dubious quality. Indeed, it is one of these with the Prolific (or Profilic) chipset. But it is enough to quit ser2net with crtl c and start it again to "solve" the problem. I am not using ser2net as a service. I'm using version 3.5 because it is the easiest way to install it on the Raspberry. I tried to install version 4.x but I struggled installing gensio. I added now a timeout of 2 seconds. Let's see, if it's working....
Hi, I am using ser2net (V3.5) to send GPS data (NMEA stream) to several network devices with a RaspberryPi. My ser2net.conf: 4444:raw:0:/dev/ttyUSB0:38400 8DATABITS NONE 1STOPBIT max-connections=20 LOCAL kickolduser CONTROLPORT:4445 But after a while, sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes more than 12h, I dont get any data any more from ser2net although there is still data fed in by ttyUSB0.
