    There is no convenient way to do this yet. The OpenOrienteering logo symbol was done by importing vector data into an empty map first, than editing the map file (XML). The latter would no longer be needed once we finish https://github.com/OpenOrienteering/mapper/issues/245.

    Your issue sounds like https://github.com/OpenOrienteering/mapper/issues/1590. With a small test file for reproducing the issue, it might be fixed by the next release.

    Even CSV files should work, although not yet with geographic coordinates, and not with the full power of GDAL unless you create a VRT file, too. Out of the box, you might go with this structure: WKT,Remark POINT(649075 394162), i.e. - You must used WKT format, in a column named WKT. - You must use two columns.
