the settings are probably wrong ..you need to check the properties for every menu page and see where the page is set up to jump to....and more besides!
I don't know if there are fixes, but my latest effort began with a selection of 24 clips totalling 4.4 GB size and would not fit on the DVD (available space shows as 4.3 GB, even though a blank disc should be 4.7 GB). I removed some clips, repeated the iso burn several times and the same problem occurred. I now note that the file size displayed has not reduced despite removing clips and my ever-decreasing set of clips, now down to 20 is still showing 4.4 GB and thus burning an image OR generating...
I even saved the new smaller collection as a different name, but it still shows file size at 4.4
I don't know if there are fixes since 2020, but my latest effort began with a selection of clips of 4.4 GB size and would not fit on the DVD (available space 4.3 GB). I removed some clips several times and the same problem occurred but now note that the file size displayed has not reduced despite removing clips and my ever-decreasing set of clips is still showing 4.4 GB and thus burning an image OR generating a folder for a different burning programme still produces the error message - too big to...
At last, the solution I needed! Thanks JMJ
After a few days of experimentation I have concluded that I will use BURN to encode video files to mpeg files which takes a fraction of the time TOAST takes. But I can’t rely on BURN to produce a DVD with a navigable menu, so I need to use TOAST to do that. This takes much less time and failures than using Toast or Burn exclusively. Good luck everyone Derek On 25 Apr 2020, at 09:13, Derek derekmankelow@users.sourceforge.net wrote: Yesterday’s experience was frustrating. I changed the titles on my...
Yesterday’s experience was frustrating. I changed the titles on my video clips, and the authoring went ahead with 7 or so clips, but without a menu selected in the preferences, so when the dvd burned and I tried it on the DVD player it would just play through. After clip 1, which played and looked great, every other clip had NO SOUND. This is a completely new problem in my years of burning dvds. So I don’t really have any suggestions. Remember, my first Burn attempt a few days ago with 1 hr 30 mins...
This may be of no help but....I tried a few things today. I removed several movie clips from my long list of items to burn, I also changed some titles, and after these experiments, the new list of six titles seems to be burning away now.... I wonder also if you play with the DVD theme under preferences ( there are 2 options) or uncheck that completely it might also make a difference...?
