Stefan, wenn Du ein Backup des Headers (mit verstecktem Volume) hast, sollte ein Restore alles wieder ordentlich lauffähig machen. Evtl. sind Dateien futsch, dann recover... Wenn Du allerdings hochsensible Dateien auf dem hidden volume hast, solltest Du irgendwie Dir eine 4 TB HDD holen/leihen und dann mit einem Tool, welches sektorweise ein Image erzeugen kann (ich habs mit Winhex gemacht) und dieses Image dann gleich auf die neue oder leere HDD erstellen. Anschließend mit OSFMount (kostenfrei)...

Thank you for the kudos :) I will always help if I can. I think there is no way to do that automatically. If may be in the future the programmer of the good tool 'testcrypt' has the chance to port that to veracrypt format there would be a good tool for doing a lot of recovery. But veracrypt is ways too strong for the capability of testcrypt. The search would last weeks or month and nobody could wait till the end... The veracrypt driver is doing its job very successfully and quick. So everybody (me...

Has been all of your data gone? or only one directory? So you do have two solutions 1) run checkdisk over the volume and scan for logical defects 2) if method one does not have success try GetDataBack Pro trial on the veracrypt volume (on the mounted volume!) not on the partition hosting the verycrypt volume... GetDataBack should find and restore the folder AND filenames... The trial only shows what it could recover. If it is successfully aou have to buy a license to finally restore the data. But...

I have to add the following statement: Veracrypt was NOT the source of the desaster! This tool does its job perfect! With the right backup strategy there is no need for panic! I do have now a backup of the needed header and I know if such happening will be repeated (I hope not) I am prepared :) And as a simple backup of the whole ssd I do have my virtual dd disk and the great PSFMount tool ;) So a lot of respect to the writers to veracrypt. It is really nearly shot-proof encryption tool! Regardless...
