I must admit I like the basic premise of the suggestion, but in deference to it not being taken up can I ask something rather simple, that PDFTK could if possible just detect a single file in the command-line startup and open it in Join mode. This would allow the program to be invoked from SumatraPDF as a custom menu item to open the currently-viewing file for extracting pages, or be invoked from explorer on some selected file. It's a bit cumbersome to do without it, and like the original author...

There are quite a few occasions where something large is compressing and you decide it's going too slowly. You could cancel it and start again but then you lose the compression already performed. It would be ideal if as well as the running dialog's ability to change the task's priority, it could alter the compression level. Presumably this would apply to files that started to compress after the choice was made rather than any in the midst... Cheers, David

I know at times a blank archive would be convenient for me, e.g. under the 7-zip context menu Add to archive... it could have a tick box not to add any files. I say convenient because you can get by without it, and you can also have stored somewhere a blank archive you've pre-created, copy it and drag items in, or archive some random item and remove it. d

The thing that I consistently would find most useful is a listfile format where if filenames are followed by a tab and then a path/name (relative or absolute), the filename would be stored under that path, otherwise it would assume the file as the path. Thus a list file of D:\a.txt [tab] info\notes.doc Would add the file "d:\a.txt" into the archive as "info\notes.doc" Without the 2nd part after the tab it would be added in as usual as D:\a.txt This would allow programs to package up files in a customised...

I certainly agree, it is my primary viewer and the bookmarks feature is amazingly useful, but very simplistic. I suffer also from a lack of ability to reorder bookmarks. Specific suggestions - Right-click a bookmark and provide 'Add bookmark below' and 'Add bookmark above' choices Drag and drop bookmarks to new locations, and/or provide shortcut keys that shift the highlighted one up or down, indents or de-indents (a setting could enable/disable these key operations so it doesn't accidentally happen),...
