I've been having issues with veracrypt since 1.24 update 2. After upgrading it destroyed my bootloader, after restoring it with a new rescue disk everything seems to work alright but the computer randomly locks up after a few days of activity. There is no trace to be found of it in Event logger or anything else but the only thing that works is a hard reset. This started happening after the upgrade to 1.24. I need help with restoring/repairing the boot loader, my computer keeps trying to restart but I can't until I know the answer since it's a FDE. I tried to edit some security settings which I have done before but now I get a popup saying "The required version of the Veracrypt Boot Loader is currently not installed. This may prevent some of the settings from being saved." How do I restore that boot loader? I can't find a solution for it. Please help.
Thank you for that, I will need a idiot proof guide for cloning though because i'm going from 1 B to 3TB and i've read people had problems with that, Would Clonezilla be a good option though? I still have all the other questions, how do I restore my boot loader for example and all the other questions left in my first post :)
I updated Win10 x64 1.21 to 1.24 update 3 (or 2 because it's not labeled right), restarted and the nightmare began... The boot UEFI loaded fine at first but each time I entered the password I got Success and then it rebooted. I have no idea what happened but it got so bad I had to reset my CMOS and restore from my veracrypt recovery usb. After I got in my OS I created a new recovery USB because it said it was outdated but also kept the old one to make sure. I have never had anything like this before...
