I don't know if something has changed since most of these previous post were made, or if I'm missing something, but I found a fairly direct solution to the problem. From my experience, basically, all you have to do is: 1) Install jPortable in the PortableApps.com Platform 2) Find and edit the FreeplanePortable.ini file by replacing "OpenJDKJRE64" with "Java" 3) Run FreePlane and get on with your life If you want to see what I tried, and the results that led me to the above conclusion - keep reading....

Dominik Reichl, Sorry, I didn't see your post until I made my last post and the page refreshed. Yes, your solution is nearly identical to what worked for me. Tested it and it does exactly what I was wanting. Thank you!

wellread1, Thank you! I wasn't getting the purpose or functionality of placeholders. Your example really opened up my understanding on what might be possible. I think the key epiphany was when I realized that placeholders can give you testable info about the active database – such as its name. After doing some reading and experimenting, the following condition did the trick. Created a “String” condition and set: String: {DB_PATH} Value - Comparison: Equals Value: %USERPROFILE%\shared.kdbx

Add Trigger option allowing explicitly specified databases to synchronize.
