Hello, Is secure to mount a Veracrypt volume then format it? I mean: when a volume is created it's fulled with random datas; so if the volume is formatted then data are replaced by 0 or I don't know what. It's no more random. And you can see the data's location, no? I wonder if a attacker can get some information. There are two possibilities to format: only the index with quick formatting and full format formatting. What about quick formatting? I would like to understand. Thank you for your explanation....

Is the project dead? What are the problems to release this version? I know the dev is made by Mounir on his personal time; i thank him for that. Maybe he haven't the time, personal problems (i can understand and i'm sorry if it's that), no money to do that, he doesn't want anymore...? Is there any alternative open source? Ciphershed wanted to rewrite Truecrypt but it is dead...(it's a very big job). I've already made a donation, i can do it again if it's helpful but i need to know if the project...

Hello, First of all, thank you Mounir for maintaining Veracrypt! I know it's a lot of work and it's a great software. The beta version was published a long time ago now. How long does it take before being published in a stable version? There are really too many bugs to publish it in release version? Thank you
