I tried this a few weeks ago too. I build the firmware with LEDE / Meshdesk and was able to flash the tl841 v13 and the AP was visible in both Mesh and AP mode. It also created the Wifi network that it was attached too and those SSID's where visible to the wifi clients. The problem was that it would not assign an IP address when connecting to the wifi networks. I think it was not able to actually send packets of data over wifi. Hi, I know nobody awnsered your post, but It is allways helpfull to others if you post the solution to the problem even if it was really simple.

Just to follow up on this topic... Turns out that my system was not ok and I had to revert to a backup of the .vhd. Advice to anynoe upgrading.- Do not attempt this without a complete system backup. There are just too many variables to diagnose should something not go according to plan. I will start a new install from scratch as Manos has allready suggested in this reply. A backup and restore feature for the database would be nice, not sure it I can copy the tables over with mysql as the structure...

Update: I am up and running again! Anybody upgrading from a 2016 version please check that your database structure is correct. Mine was missing openvpn_server tables. I created a new database using the supplied rd.sql in the /setup/db directory, migrated the tables to my existing databse and everything works now. I also had to give wwwdata write permission for /usr/share/nginx/cake2/tmp for cache. Not sure why this reset after the update?!? RE tl-841v13: the firmware boots and is visible in AP /...

Thanks, I was hoping for a bit more info on where to look to help diagnose the problem... The firmware boots on the v13 and was showing on the AP desk before the update, However I was not getting a correct connection to the internet via wifi, it looked like a dns issue.
