    I was able to recover all of my 6 data disks and 1 of 2 parity disks after a lightning strike fried my server. In reinstalling some media software, I accidentally deleted a large number of videos files. These were spread out across the disks via drivepool on windows. i ran a diff and it showed the removed files from the last sync. I tired to run snapraid fix -m -f /DIR (folder of one of the drives with a smaller set of files) but got an error that the 1st parity drive from the config was missing....

    Disaster struck as lightning hit practically in my back yard. Even though my server was behind a cyberpower UPS and the UPS was still on, my server wouldn't turn on. Taking the disks out and trying them in another computer showed only about half will even spin up. Very frustrating, i will look into what went wrong but just want to set the best path forward to restore any data if possible. Snapraid set up was Set 1 8tb Parity - registers in BIOS, showed in windows once but then doesn't after spitting...

    I have to reinstall Windows on a new ssd. I still have access to my old c drive where I can read the conf file and I can see the content files on each of my HDDs. my problem is for 3 of my 8 disks, I did not name my content file according to the drive letter. so I don't know what letter those three disks were in my previous configuration. the HDDs in the snapraid are exactly the same data as before, how can I avoid rebuilding everything and determining what the old drive letters were? previous windows...
