It appears that the mouse works in windowed mode but not in full screen. Any thoughts? Thank you!
It is a full dedicated host machine, nothing virtual. I will enable that feature and see what it looks like. Thank you :)
Hey guys, I made a windows 7 box and I am having MUCH better results (no AA mode slowdown!!!). However, the mouse does not appear to be working in the sim. It should be able to interact with the buttons around the cockpit displays. Are you seeing this behavior too? Thanks!

Thank you. I wonder what could be going on with my install. I know a lot of people are affected by this issue hence the simhq post. Oh well. I guess this one will have to stay buried in the past LOL I really appreciate the help. Thank you very much.
"About the Air to Air mode slow down, now on Win10 I pressed the 'M' key while in "Instant action" mode and the HUD changed slightly (I suppose that means I entered AA mode) but I didn't notice any significant slow-down effect." On the left hand side of the cockpit there are 2 indicator lights for 2 Master Modes; Air to Air and Air to Ground . M toggles through them. Can you please confirm the AA and not the AG light is illuminated? Thank you, Chris
I realized that once the flight sim starts and it's a single window, I can resize it so that is no longer an issue. One nagging problem is the Air to Air mode slow down. In order to set the jet up to fight other planes, you have to enter AA mode. This is done with the "M" key. Notice that when in AA mode, the game slowdown significantly. Almost unplayable. The issue is documented here... https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2142199/all/f-18-with-no-banding-aa-slowdowns-xp-and-vista Think...
YES!!! Great progress :) Thank you!!! I will play with this for a while and see if it all works. https://i.imgur.com/p0lCAKG.png
Sorry you lost me a buit on the registry instructions. This is my install path... C:\Jane's Combat Simulations\FA-18 I applied the rest of your instructions. This is the result now... The big gray/black ball belongs inside of the green ring at lower right https://i.imgur.com/jX0uTiU.jpg
FYI the view panning up problem is a long known issue... View panning up Remove the line JOY1_HATUP=CAM_ROTATE_UP from the f18keys.ini file. The change must be made for each mapping that is used in-game. https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/367924/janes-f-a-18-faq-updated-2013-feb-24
I tried this new .dxw file, same result. Did it run for you, MrPepka?
Yes, the last time I got the game to work, I was on Win7. Using 10 now. Tried the above attachments, getting same result. I appreciate you looking into this. I will wait for your Win 10 investigation. Thank you, Chris

Thank you so much. Please let me know if I can provide any help.
Still looking for help on this if anyone has any suggestions.
Hello, I can get the game to start and see the menus but once it is time to get into the sim to fly, the game crashes to desktop. Can anyone please help? What can I provide to investigate and resolve? Thanks!
