Okay, sorry, I was mistaken. I never used JPEG myself so probably just thought it wasn't there. It seems JPEG support was removed sometime during Jan 2022.
Happened? JPEG has never been a supported screenshot format in VICE. And a lossy format for such small screenshots with maximum of 16 colors makes no sense anyway.
This can go on top of the above.
x64sc: bottom right pixel(s) of screen rendered incorrectly when using CRT filter with double size
However, while at this, I thought to try and see if those format list menus could be generated dynamically from the gfxdriver data like in the Gtk3 frontend instead of being hardcoded. This attached patch does just that (should be applied on top of the first one), though I'm not entirely happy with all of it.
Seems I had also forgotten to add the format selection option to the non-VIC menus (I thought I did that at some point, but seems to have been lost somehow.) In any case, attached version of the patch fixes that.
Ah. Fixed that nitpick.
Updated patch, which implements selectable quicksave/autosave format for SDL and Gtk3 frontends and removes some code duplication by moving a bit of common code to screenshot.c
