I'm a Debian enthusiast working with the PeppermintOS dev team during our transition from Ubuntu to a pure Debian, with our signature custom icons, themes and the inclusion of the Nemo file manager, to reestablish Peppermint after being listed as dormant by Distrowatch in January 2022, it was a very satisfactory feeling to know what we set out to achieve was realised with our new iteration launched to the general public on the 2nd February 2022.

pepdebian is the lead developer, myself and KsWoodsMan joined the team in the last throw of the dice after numerous members of team Peppermint bailed for one reason or another. It was more in hope effort that turned into reality, savouring this moment in time. The final piece of the jigsaw was jonesy a work college of pepdebian, saw the three musketeers rally and charge for the finishing line.

For this release, the remit I received from the remaining admins of Peppermint's old guard, it had to be parred down to give the end user maximum choice with what they would to add, not what we might think they might need. To this end, we dismantled everything and started in earnest in October 2021 with the best part of the OS establish by pepdebian.

To this end, we removed the sparse apps that were included in Peppermint 10 and included gparted that was not previously part of the base kit. The contentious browser debate was culled with the removal of a stock browser, had to laugh, the whinges, this produced were as assuming and tiresome as the what is best squabbles.

The ICE app, site specific browser, another signature app of Peppermint dating back to Peppermint Two if I'm correct? It did not float my boat, but had a steady following of avid users, so it was retained, without a default browser it raised concerns and dependency challenges that other non included default app had done, as the project evolved and matured into fruition.

During the final weeks, my true calling was realised, a 29 year career in the print trade enabled me to call the tune to the Calamares colour and design, to blend it and match our desktop schema with other less noticeable detailing of presentation, presentation and presentation, as my mentor instructed me during the early days of my apprenticeship. If you have ever watched some of the TV car restoration shows, they refer to detailing a car. In other words presentation.
