OK folks: I now have E-APO installed and the mystery is solved. *YES E-APO works great* with a Scarlett 2i4. I am a happy bunny! After install of E-APO (and a reboot), the Advanced tab in the Scarlett 2i4's Scarlett Line Out Properties dialog does display a Signal Enhancements section, containing an Enable audio enhancements checkbox which works as expected to enable/disable E-APO. So it turns out that the presence of the Signal Enhancements section on the tab indicates a successfull install of E-APO....

Matt, thanks for that reply. E-APO instructions (that I have read, anyway!) don't say what to do if there are NO Enhamcements showing on the Advanced tab. So I didn't know whether or not a visible Enhancements on the Advanced tab was a requirement for E-APO to work, since nothing was said about that; there seemed to be an implict assumption that an Enhancements section WOULD exist. It would be great if something were added to the instructions to say whether or not the lack of visible Enhancements...

For 'equalising' sound system-wide, you would need a different product. You need something like Claesson Edwards' Breakaway Audio Enhancer or something similar.
In Sounds on Windows 7 Home Premium, the Scarlett 2i4 Advanced tab does not contain any checkboxes relating to Enhancements. Does this mean it will never work with Equalizer APO? I don't want to waste time my installing E-APO to 'try it and find out:' I'd rather know one way or the other beforehand! So, does anyone here own a (1st gen) Scarlett 2i4 and if so, does E-APO work with that interface? Thanks in advance; and apologies if this has been asked here before, but I couldn't find anything. BFN...
