Hi @han59, Thank you for the reply :-) Yes, the solving works, but stacking has a problem, visible on the image I posted earlier, it seem the registering was not correct. I expected the similar behavior like DSS, but the stacking result from ASTAP is not good in my case.. What could go wrong here?

I am very new to this application (so far I was using DSS), and interested in ASTAP because of possibility to stack on very faint objects based on ephemerides. However, my first attempt in stacking producesd strange result, see attached image. While DSS stack is OK, it seems ASTAP didn't register frames properly.. there is a shift and stars are not round. Also, I tried to solve one of the CR2 frames and the stacked image below, but solution was not found (I have D50 installed). What am I doing wrong?...

I have HP Compaq 6300 desktop, and I want to clone existing SSD to a slightly smaller one (256GB => 250GB). First, i shrunk OS (C:) partition in order the whole thing to fit. Then, the procedure was as follow: dev-dev, expert, local -icds, k1 I ended with 2.39 GB unalocated (at the right, see image). How to avoid this situation, because 98MB partition is unmovable and w/o name. Originally it was HP recovery partition. Thanks in advance!

Robert, I was wandering if there are plans for something like that.. It would be wonderful to be able to control open/close of the mask (possibly filters as well).. it just needs a pair of pins on Nano board and of course app should support additional commands.. Cheers, Bojan

Hi Robert, I am trying to install win app on computer which is currently not on internet.. (and won't be for some time). Setup program gives up with message (something like) ".Net Framework 4.5.1 required.." I tried to download Framework from MS website, but unfortunately it is not quite offline version because it wants to verify installer (and it can't because comp is offline). I know I can sort it out by data SIM and couple of bucks, but still... it would be nice to solve it directly. Dot.Net v5...

I successfully installed .NET4.5, but when tried v4.5.1 there was a message: ".NET Framework has not been installed because a certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider" Could it be the problem is in relatively fresh installation of w'7 , and I can't download updates any more (no support...

Well, now it works, refreshing position every 5 sec. Not sure why it didn't work last time.... Maybe my PC is playing me. Thanks again, Bojan

Robert, Final position is displayed correctly after clicking "Get" or jog or "Go to", but when I set logging to 5s and move encoder, after some time (longer than 5 sec) there is a message displayed "Focuser is moving, update ignored". So it seems my "patchwork" is still not complete, app thinks motor is moving but this is definitely not the case. I have to have another look into the code... But... as I mentioned earlier, it OK as it is. I asked the question only because I think the position was updated...

Robert, Thank you.. I tried your suggestion, but it still works only if I click "Get Position" on Main tab, so something is still missing in that code. Never mind, what I have now (remote via USB and local encoder) is quite sufficient for my needs at the moment. Robert, I managed to "marry" ULN2003 board and rotary encoder - it is a bit of a patchwork, but it reads encoder and moves the motor accordingly, apart from other functionality relevant to ULN2003 board. I noticed it doesn't automatically update the focuser position as encoder is moved, to do it I have to click on "Get Position" button. Is this is how the other variants of f/w behave, or should I try to implement this as well?

Robert, thank you for the tips. I think I found and inserted all relevant subroutines into ULN2003 code, it compiles OK but some things are still missing before I try to upload and test. Anyway, I am not in a hurry with this since I already have what I needed (focus control via USB), more important now are mechanicals for my C11. Thanks again, Bojan

Robert, sorry for dxf (sent in error), here is jpg. I just found rotary encoder mentioned in configuration file, but apparently it is not available in ULN2003 build. I can see that encoder is connected to pins 9, 10, 11, so I can't have buttons at the same. which is fine. How can I activate it?

OK, all sorted... I was using wrong version of software. Actually, Souceforge is quite confusing sometimes, I thought I was downloading the right files, but that was not the case. I had to specifically search for ver. 2 to find it. I hope I won't bother you again with this. Bojan

I tried previous version (myFocuserProL) and it connects, but I still I have exception error when trying to Set parameters. What is wrong here? Wrong Baud rate? W' app default rate is 9600. So I changed that to 57600 Now there is no Exception error, buy it's still not connected (because it requires 9600).... so when I click anything to change parameters, in Status Messages window there is a message "Serial port is not connected" and all soft buttons are grayed. Do I have to have 470uF cap on Reset connected, could this be the cause of my problem?

Robert, After successful compilation and f/w upload, I tried to power-up and focuser itself works with buttons, motor is moving, then stops (when limit is reached.. so everythin looks normal). Then I tried I tried to connect it to myFocuserPro windows application (v.1.04..2). It tries to connect (com13, 9600) but fails and then I have Unhandled exception error, see below. For quite some time I was using my own simple focuser electronics design (without processor, schematic attached). It was working OK for me for years, but after building my permanent setup, I wanted remote focus control.. and Ascom focuser is ideal solution. However, I am wondering now if using the encoder as input device instead of buttons for stand-alone use would be beneficial (for me it would be)? How hard would it be to modify the code for this ?

Yes.. I had that originally, but for some reason, I was placing myFocurer libraries in exactly that folder (C:\Users\Astra_1\Documents\Arduino) which was wrong. Then I tried other things, run out of patience.. and bothered half the world with my problems.. my apologies for that. Anyway, it works now. Thanks again :-)

Robert, Now I have a question: I can see from code that pushbuttons are implemented as analogue input. Is there a particular reason for this (apart from saving 1 pin)?

OK.. I really feel stupid now. I placed content of myFocuserPro2libraries into F:\Data_disk\Arduino_libraries and it works. I am sure I did exactly that earlier, but without success.. so re-installation must have helped. Thank you!

Robert, I tried on laptop, the same... So now I am cleaning my deskto. You mentioned: 1. Install Arduino IDE 1.6.13 (everything including drivers) 2. Did you mean 1.6.13 or 1.8.13?

Robert, Thanks.. Yeah.. I am afraid I will have to do just as you suggested. I will let you know how it went. However, it is interesting that I haven't had such troubles with Arduino before, and was compiling couple of projects before, including OnStep (MEGA, STM32...), some applications using LCD 1602 display and the same path library was used.. Anyway, doesn't matter - I must have been doing something wrong because everybody else succeeded :-) Thanks again, Bojan

Yes, in Menu>File>Preferencies>Settings>Sketchbook location I have : C:\Users\Astra_1\Documents\Arduino\libraries and in this folder there are other subfolders (libraries), including myQueue where I have myQueue.h. But for some reason my Arduino IDE still can't find that header file.. I will try to move everything on my H drive and see what happens..

Thank you for the reply :-) I think I followed that instruction- on the screen dump it is visible that I have myQueue folder in C:\Users\Astra_1\Documents\Arduino\libraries folder, but I still have the same error, even after restarting windows. What i am doing wrong?
