Indeed, RIPEMD-160 was used. Downgrade to 1.25.9, creating a new volume, copy data and upgrade solved the problem. Thanks for the help, Mounir IDRASSI and Enigma2Illusion.

After upgrade of veracrypt 1.25.9 -> 1.26.7 on Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (Kernel: 5.15.0-86-generic x86_64), decryption of a veracrypt volume failed with "wrong password or not a veracrypt volume". After downgrade to 1.25.9, decryption worked again. Tested on a second machine (Linux Mint 20 Ulyana): Updated to 1.26.7, decryption stopped, too. I used builds from https://unit193.net/

Tested on different machines. On windows works as supposed, on Linux not. Same TB (60.6.1) and EM (2.0.10) versions...
