Stuff like ffmpeg uses those files for testing 3D capabilities, I thought it was possible to identify them. So in short MediaInfo doesn't analyze the file but just the metadata, if these are incorrect or missing files can't be identified. Thank you.
I probably don't know what to look for. I'm using samples from https://samples.ffmpeg.org/3D/ for example, the mkv one returns the following: General Count : 331 StreamCount : 1 StreamKind : General StreamKind/String : General StreamKindID : 0 UniqueID : 150068349295283621376990816103385374343 UniqueID/String : 150068349295283621376990816103385374343 (0x70E61CDDEBEE6CC7FFFB021B90059E87) VideoCount : 1 Video_Format_List : AVC Video_Format_WithHint_List : AVC Video_Codec_List : AVC CompleteName : /Users/devster/Downloads/20110805-112659-ch0.mkv...
Hello, I found the below discussions, now a bit outdated, regarding 3D content https://sourceforge.net/p/mediainfo/discussion/297609/thread/648f4504 https://sourceforge.net/p/mediainfo/discussion/297610/thread/1dc38ad5 Is it possible to identify 3D files? If so, how?
I see, thanks for the explanation. I'll rely on Format_AdditionalFeatures to identify hybrid streams then.
This part is a bug Thank you for the confirmation Your file is an hybrid stream: - a "core" AC-3 stream with 5.1 content, decodable by an AC-3 decoder. This is the reason the "Format" field is AC-3 (this field shows what you need to minimal decode) - a "dependant" E-AC-3 stream with 2 additional channels, optional, interleaved with the first one. This is the reason the "Format/String" field is "E-AC-3" (this field shows what you need to full decode) From which field can I understand when it's a hybrid...
