Yeah, what about it? Some obscure AV being unhappy about 7-zip. Contact them, report a false positive.

When installing Windows updates, this app starts to consume 100% of CPU and is leaking memory like crazy. The same can be observed when creating/deleting/renaming/touching tens of thousands of files. Please fix.

When installing Windows updates, this app starts to consume 100% of CPU and is seemingly leaking memory like crazy. Granted it's not the latest version, maybe the bug has already been fixed.

Is it true that 7-zip 23.xx archives may be incompatible with all prior 7-zip versions due to a new ARM64 binary compression algorithm? If it's true, this needs more attention, e.g. you could say that on the front page or something.

On a second thought it makes no sense to add this feature as absolute most websites nowadays work via HTTPs.

When will you release it formally? E.g. Linux builds, the source code, MSI packages.

As always, a program version number would be helpful, but it probably doesn't matter much in this case. unzip-6.0-53.fc35.x86_64 : https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/unzip/tree/rawhide One possible solution would be to enhance UnZip to convert "\" to "/" in the (path) names of archive members In my 25 years of using UNIX OSes I've not seen a single filename containing back slashes. I'd just go ahead and convert \ in filenames to / automatically but I'm not a C programmer. You might also complain...

Thanks Igor! Looking forward to a changelog. Files: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/files/7-Zip/21.04/ Edit: it says "beta" inside, I'm confused. Edit 2: files inside are dated November, 2nd. Something is off :-)

I don't experience stutters but many people are. Maybe because when I run the game I shut down everything else to avoid concurrent IO access.

This is a URL encoded in BASE64 just to avoid it from being scanned/reported automatically: aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWdhLm56L2ZpbGUvTzhWRXhaekEjaUdWTjl3NHNIcmpsS3d2YmNMT0lraEp1NkxwZWFoV1hrTFhfVjhtLUlwcw== Obviously the archive doesn't contain data files (over 33GB).

If you're interested I can upload and make available all game EXE's and DLLs for you to inspect. I'm not a C programmer, let alone a person who can reverse engineer/disassemble. :-)

The game is mentioned in the linked question, it's NFS Heat. The issue is it's a 64 bit binary and DxWnd is a 32bit only application.

  • Artem S. Tashkinov Artem S. Tashkinov posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Does DxWnd have this feature? It turns out several games using the Frostbite engine specifically disable Windows file read cache and it makes playing them a horrible experience. For more info please check https://superuser.com/questions/1679161/how-to-stop-certain-windows-games-from-disabling-bypassing-disk-read-caching To be honest I'm not even sure if this flag is being FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING used or the game does something even worse to Windows file cache management.
