Hi, danke für die Antwort & Bereitschaft dazu, da nochmal reinzuschauen – das MWE-Erstellen hat dazu geführt, dass ich dem Problem auf die Spur gekommen bin. So soll es sein ... Alles bestens, das funktioniert wie es soll. Trotzdem könnte man überlegen, 1.7a zu einer offiziellen Version zu machen, ist ja immerhin (mindestens) ein fix drin. Bis bald Ph.

Thanks! First I installed the qt5-variant, it had the same problem. Then I saw your edit and took the qt4-one, and it worked fine – so I'm happy. Is this something I can forward to the debian developers to be added to the next point release or what would you do?

Yes, as it failed sometimes in the past. For my PhD I was using the same subfiles with two different mother files, depending on the desired output. So for obvious reasons sometimes the wrong mother file was detected. But as I finished the PhD meanwhile, I can try it again, maybe it's better now.

Hey, I was using debian stable (that means TeXstudio 2.8.4), there was a "switch" to mark a document as master file or remove that mark again. Not in debian testing (txs 2.11.2), it is no longer a switch, but separate buttons: One to mark a document as master file, and one to unmark it. Up until now I had the switch added to the tool bar, so that I just had to click it to make a file master or "unmaster" it. Now I'd have to add two buttons and always think about which button to click ... is there...
