    You are adjusting the internal volume control of the track frames only.Think of the volume control on your stereo as an analogy. All you are adjusting with mp3Gain is the volume level in 8 bit steps.The program is completely non destructive, no rewriting is done, so no degredation can happen. The nice thing about it is you can go back and touch up any tracks that you think are lower or higher than the others at any time.

    Did you try "constant gain" to get back out? Sometimes reloading the file into mp3Gain helps clear up some issues especially if if seems non responsive. I've had this but it's rare. The track will retain any previous level before the reload, so you cannot do any harm. One thought, does anyone know if there is a ceiling at 100 dB as far as the program goes? Maybe you've gone over the upper limit of adjustment? The adjustment steps are limited to 8 bits. Therefore there has to be both a lower and upper...
