Hi Ben Yeah that is an older model, which we have tested on a similar era model and it works fine. The issue is, the customer wants to use the Native UI so they can setup profiles within the scanner driver for the different documents they scan. The problem happens for any of the newer scanner models, the ones that have 64bit drivers seems to be how you can identify this. Regards Anthony Kelly

Thank you Ben for v3 of the test app. I have attached the logs from this as well. It did behave differently, for Test 1 it didn't have the Error 27 show up, but did have the error dialogue box that shows up after you OK the Error 27 popup a couple of times. I have attached the logs for your investigation. Regards Anthony Kelly

Thank you Ben Test that latest. Again none of the prfiles brought up the scanner's driver dialogue box. I have attached the logs from each profile. Regards Anthony Kelly

Hi Ben "The intention of the test is to try and fix the driver interaction for "Default" (or "Old DSM") so that it works without the limitations of Legacy." - Yes this is correct. The limitation of Legacy is the number of pages that it can scan in one batch. Ideally just to have the application work the same way as it does with the older Canon scanner models where it shows the scanner driver and lets you scan via native UI mode for the TWAIN driver. Hi Ben Thank you for that NAPS2.portable program. We ran the program and selected the Test1>4 under TWAIN Implementation and tried to scan. Note, none of the Test profiles actually brought up the scanner driver dialogue box. 3 of them return the Error 27 1 of them quickly showed a pop up of a dialogue box but disappeared (This is what you get when you do this with Default). Hope the logs will let you see what is going. For the issue perceived by the customer, they expect the application to work with...

Hi Ben I should point out that the older Canon scanners work fine. With the 'Default' selected for TWAIN Implementation. The native UI does show up like it should. So it will be the later version of the TWAIN driver that is probably the cause of this. Given the scanner works with the 'use predefined settings' as well. We couldn't get the new model Canon scanners to work with 'Old DSM' so not sure this the correct tack to take. Regards Anthony Kelly

Thank you Ben We would be happy to test the version you think will address the issue. Appreciate any suggestion right now. If you send me the version I will test it in our environment and let you know how we go. Regards Anthony Kelly

Thanks Ben We have tested our scanner with the 'Old DSM', this didn't work at all for opening up the native UI. Instead it threw up an scanner error then another, see attahed NAPS2-OldDSMError1.png and NAPS2-OldDSMError2.png. The text in the Error 2 was: NAPS2.Scan.Exceptions.ScanDriverUnknownException: An error occurred with the scanning driver. ---> System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature...
