@alexvwolf Thanks, I see this method appeared in 5d75d02301266b3a157f872196d3aae99ceeee69 revision. I used an older version.
Git revision b855bc0f8a1440e4eefa6f90a84de1650867b9a4, I don't see such a method in SpecialMarkersMgr class.
setFlagCompassMarks method is no longer a part of SpecialMarkersMgr object available in Stellarium scenarios (aka scripts). What is a proper way to hide or display compass marks?
Thank you for the link, Victor! A couple of questions if possible: - What is a "Azimuth compared to Object" in the new app version? - Why should I specify calendar year and month? Are they used to estimate the celestial positions of the Sun of Moon? What if these positions are already obtained somehow? Thanks again.
Hello Victor! It would be great to have a copy of the 2000 year article. I've send you a message (via SF messenger) with my private e-mail. Thanks a lot! BTW is Swiss Ephemeris an open-source project?
Hello Georg. Please execuse my long silence, I was trying to find the articles mentioned. I only managed to find a poor quality copy of Schaefer, 1993 where some formulas are barely readable. I'm going to check it anyway. B. Schaefer: To the Visual Limits. Sky&Telescope 5/1998 57-60: I could not find a digital copy archive on their site. B. Schaefer: Archaeoastronomy XV, 2000: UoTP site no longer lists this journal. Fortunately I have found the following JavaScript implementation of Schaefer's model:...

Hello there and thank you for the great project. My question is how does Stellarium determine if a star (or other body) is visible in the sky at the given moment? The star's "own" apparent magnitude is affected by a daylight or twilight, solar and lunar elongation, closeness to the horizon, zoom factor etc. May I know the formulas that are used for the corresponding calculations? Can you suggest any publicly available resources I could learn? It would also be great to know where in source code I...
