I'm a run of the mill desktop user, i.e. internet stuff, documents, photos and a bit of Terminal usage. For this I've happily been using Pepp OS Bullseye these last eight months, replacing nearly ten years of using Linux Mint. Now that there is a new Pepp OS, Bookworm, I have been wondering the following: What are the advantages of replacing Pepp OS Bullseye with Pepp OS Bookworm? What are the advantages of using Pepp OS as opposed to just plain Debian with Xfce desktop? To partly answer my own questions:...
Solved! ... (original post below) Well, seems like I missed the obvious right in front of me, i.e. I was using the SuperLeft key instead of the SuperRight key. I have found the SuperRight key has the very default settings I was after when used in conjunction with the keypad to place a window on the monitor: SuperRight + KP1 - bottom left hand quarter SuperRight + KP2 - bottom half SuperRight + KP3 - bottome right hand quarter SuperRight + KP4 - left hand half SuperRight + KP5 - n/a SuperRight + KP6...

I've tried editing the entry several times: Keyboard > Application Shortcuts >xfce-popup-whiskermenu - Super L to be, for example: alt + KP6, this adds a new entry and I close the Keyboard window. However, when I re-open Keyborad > Application Shortcuts, along with the new entry, the old entry of: xfce-popup-whiskermenu - Super L, re-appears. So I press the Super key and the Whisker menu pops up. Is there some file I could manually edit to achieve my aim?
Just updated to Bookworm Pepp OS after using Bullseye Pepp OS for several months. In Bullseye Pepp OS, I was able to assign the Super key + up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow, to move an open window to occupy half the screen top, bottom, left & right, something that I find useful to do. In the Bookworm version every time I press the Super key the Whisker menu appears, irrespective if I press Super + any other key simultaneously. I have been unable to remove or modify the entry: Keyborad...

Ok thanks.
When does LTS come to an end for Pepp OS Debian Bullseye?
Hi, I'd be interested to test an iso on my desktop pc (I have a spare 256gb ssd I can install it on), but please be aware that I am just an average desktop user with a basic knowledge of using terminal. Let me know if this would be of interest to you. My desktop pc is: 3Ghz intel duo, 4gb ram.

I suspect many have a copy of Puppy Linux, I have Fossapup64 and really like the default wallpaper, hence adding a Pepp logo to it, to make it my desktop wallpaper for my Peppermint OS install:
I like the 3D ball! What program did you use to create this?
I downloaded a simple Debian teal wallpaper and added a teal Peppermint logo: it is 1280 x 1040.
Wallpaper: simple teal Debian wallpaper to which I added a teal Peppermint symbol
I've been giving Peppermint OS a trial for three weeks now and am getting to really like it in many ways, one of which is being able to auto-login. During installation I created a main account, i.e. admin/su with a stong password but did not select automatic login. Once installed, I created a standard user account from which I do everything, meaning that if I want to install software or make changes, then I use my admin/su password to do so, or in Terminal change to su. To auto-login to my standard...
Solved! via: Menu > Settings > Removable drives and Media ticked some boxes as per the attached image.
In Nemo > Edit > Preferences > Behaviour > Media Handling, the boxes are ticked for: - Automatically mount removable media when inserted and on start-up - Automatically open a folder for automounted media (see attached image) however, automatic opening of a folder is not happening when I insert a usb flash drive. Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It works! As su, I cd'd to /opt/pypep/dbpep, typed sudo chmod 755 welval.db and I can now indeed access Pephub from my Desktop User account! Thank you for your help!
Indeed the installer did create a custom account, I changed it to Administrator for no other reason than that is what I thought I needed to do.
Results: andy@and-oem:/opt/pypep/dbpep$ ls -ls total 20 20 -rw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 20480 Feb 5 10:35 welval.db
There is a main account, i.e. the one that was created by default upon installation, that is marked as 'Administrator' and I created a 'Desktop user' account that I habitually use, the one from which I cannot access Pephub. From what you are saying and your 'user.png' image, it seems that my creating the 'Desktop user' account is not necessary in Pepermint and I should just be using the default 'Administrator' account created upon installation; is that correct? Printout from inxi -Fxz System: Kernel:...

I updated by running: sudo xDaily, rebooted, but still no Pephub. However, I then thought to change user, so I logged into root account and Pephub is working there. As it's not working in my standard user account, might I assume that Pephub only runs if you are logged in as root user?

When I click on Peppermint hub to launch, a small blank pop-up pops up headed 'ttkbootstrap', this disappears after one second and that's it, no Pephub. Therefore I'm looking for advice on how to rectify this.
