I gave up on this and switched from Ubuntu Studio 26.04 LTS to Ubuntu Studio 24.04.3 LTS I installed Guvcview via terminal commands, it installed Guvcview version 2.0.8. It works as it should. There’s a message somewhere on the Ubuntu Studio 26.04 LTS download site that states that OS updates will not become available until August which is 3 months from now. It may be that the updates will sort out the problem with Guvcview 2.2.2. It seems that the GutHub version of 2.2.2 works on 26.04 but I tried...

I downloaded a .tar.gz archive file from Sourceforge for Guvcview version 2.0.8 but I can’t figure out how to install it and when I clicked on the folder a message said the file was corrupt....
