youll have to reinstall. its the easiest way to fix it, else youll be running around for days trying to reconfigure everything... even yours user is now set as only root ( how you managed to do that i do not even know ).

it says you are running as root, it literally shows you that its pulling config from root directory. you need to double check why that is.

  • MakuluLinux MakuluLinux posted a comment on ticket #192

you are running the system as Root ? that menu is not designed to function under root.

Correct, anytime you change a layout or even change a dock layout it will return to the default saved layout, however you can make a new save, you can edit it as you like it, then overwrite the default saved layout profile, Ive made a Tutorial here how to use the desktop manager : https://youtu.be/VHijYEG_ScI at timestamp 15:57 i cover how to save layouts.

in calamares there is an option to just select the partition below, you can simply click on any partitions shown in the bottom. else you can choose advanced partitioning and set the flags for partitions manually.

Debian shift some extensions are a problem, with Gnome team breaking extensions with every update ( youd think these @#$%# holes would have stopped breaking things by now. i will take a look, however it all depends if the third party developer has updated the extension or not. did you try and update extensions from gnome extension website ?

If you read the release notes on the website it tells you clearly that after you install and on first boot it may not show you the android apps, if that happens simply reboot one more time and everything should be ok. This is due to some Android services That need last minute setup, the system will automatically do it for you. Just reboot again

Seems for some reason you are having problems with the packages module part of your install. are you behind a firewall or use a proxie ? You can bypass this by doing the following : boot up in live mode, open the file in folder : /etc/calamares/settings.conf look for the line : - packages and change it to # - packages ( add a # in front of the line ) Close and save the file. now run the installer again and it should run through but without doing the packages part. see the attached picture.

  • MakuluLinux MakuluLinux posted a comment on ticket #128

  • MakuluLinux MakuluLinux posted a comment on ticket #108

    i will look into this.

  • MakuluLinux MakuluLinux posted a comment on ticket #110

unfortunetly Debian issues a Faulty package "apt-show-versions" which causes problems with ddm. to fix the error you have to "sudo apt-get purge apt-show-versions", in which case you cannot use DDM. The only solution is to install drivers manually the old fashoined way if you want to use a propriety driver. We hope to have a solution to this problem soon. The distro does come with open source drivers already installed, why are you wanting to install propriety driver ?

  • MakuluLinux MakuluLinux posted a comment on ticket #106

open terminal and type : sudo apt-get purge apt-show-versions that will fix the problem, we are busy adressing it, its a faulty package that came via the debian testing repo.
