Made some progress here. Steps: (1) Delete all Google contacts (2) Reset Matches in GSM (3) Do one-way sync from Outlook to Google Now I can actually finish a sync. "Reset Matches" was the key.
Google.Apis.Requests.RequestError Contact resource was not found
There are a few open tickets/threads on this, but I haven't been able to use this tool for months now because of this issue. Have not found any workaround that allows a sync to go through.
I tried deleting all my Google Contacts, waiting a couple of days, and starting a new sync. Even from item #1, it gives the failure/retry message. Doesn't seem like there is any way to get this tool to work with my current setup. Is there some way to turn on more verbose logging so we can see exactly what is happening when it can't sync and has to retry 5 times? Is there some way to disable the 5 times retry so it gets through an initial sync faster?
It would be nice if there were a way to limit gosyncmod to 1000 contacts without limiting my Outlook addressbook. I really do need more than 1000 contacts generally.
So I'm thinking there is something different going on in my case. I'm not convinced that even after it finishes this first pass over a few days it will be faster, since every entry is "not found for some magic reason" now. Each one says: 2023-10-25 07:50:00 DBG Matching contact 181 of 2564 by id: [name] 2023-10-25 07:50:00 DBG Loading Google Contact with id 565746e78a746ca1... 2023-10-25 07:50:07 DBG LoadGoogleContacts, retry 1 to find again the same contact with id 565746e78a746ca1, because sometimes...
Chess, did you notice when that first sync took a long time, was it giving the "not found for some magic reason" in the log for every single contact and trying five times for each?
Same problem now five days later. It would take at least a couple of days running 24/7 to complete a sync at this rate.
