Hi Andras, shortly after I posted my lamento above, I found out that the following procedures helps to at least read old mm files, if not even edit them without trouble. - open your mm file - select all nodes (cmd-a) - in the top command bar select the font Monaco and font size 10 - left to this select zoom factor 150% This does not rectify fonts in the dialog boxes (e.g. the preference dialog) but it renders old Freemind files readable. Let me know if this works for your device too.

Same problem here. After lots of research, I had (barely) found a workaround for keeping Freemind and it's files when I switched from High Sierra to Catalina, it relied on switching to Monaco as default font, and a few more tweeks. But under Monterey - which includes Monaco as a system font - that does not work anymore. No idea what to do.

I am using FP v1.9.4, on Mac it appears that the command to increase the font size of the current node (under format > node core) does not work, when invoked with a keyboard command it doesn't work with the default key assignment (meta +), or any custom key assignment, which proves it is not just a conflict with another (systemwide) keyboard shortcut.

Unfortunately a search for line wrap (or similar) returns endless posts. So it is hard to ensure, that this subject hasn't been treated before. Could anybody tell me how to disable the automatic line wrap (line feed inside a simple text node) always added after some 40-50 chars ? If this cannot be turned off, has a related feature request already been posted ? Thank you in advance !

Hi there, I reported earlier that versions later than 1.8.11 are rejected on Mojave. This doesn't seem to be a real compatibility issue, but a choice made by the developer. Is there a chance to change this ?

I realized that this is a spare time project. So, thanks even more ! I am surprised that Freemind has it's "own" implementation. It looks sooo much much the standard file sel. box - it's hard to believe it's third party implemented. Anyway, could you please point me to those few lines in the Freemind auto.properties file where this is called up ? Best

Back to the new pre-release version. I just realize that it is no longer compatible with osx Mojave. I am using Mojave because it is the last 32-bit apps compatible osx (and still supported by Apple). So I am afraid, my comment to the pre-release (20) has to be : it doesn't work - at least on osx Mojave. ;)

Hello Dimitry, I know time and effort are always limited resources. Hope you don't mind if I ask, did a look at my uploaded files provided any insight why Freemind can call up a Mac file selector box, and Freeplane cannot ? Best

Will start using it today (under Mojave, since most downloads seem to be on windows so far) and come back comments if necessary. BTW, is there a way to download a sha256 hash or a PGP signature for these pre-releases ? And, is there a short description on how to provide translations, and what languages preferable resp. already complete (enough) ?

Sure ! BTW, I noticed that under osx a user.properties doesn't seem to be used / existing. Is that correct ?

I believe the following helps to understand when the problem started on osx, and how to make the workaround work: - problem unknown with osx High Sierra and before - problem does occur with Mojave and later - the proposed workaround (switching to the Monaco font does help IF a) you use Monaco, with size of 12 pts. AND do never use ZOOM b) select Monaco as your default font in all physical styles c) this is done via menu > format > phys. styles > manage patterns ... The last step is needed since the...

@ Dimitry, this surprises me. When I use Freemind (instead of FP), the standard osx file sel box comes up. Doesn't this show that it simply requires a proper call to a system function rather than additional libraries etc. ? Best

I am testing FreePlane on osx (Mojave), and I am a little surprised that upon "open" or "save" that archaic, not very user friendly file selector box (see attachment) comes up. Is there a way to make FP use the standard osx file selector box ? Thanks !!
