Hello Stefano sorry again. The cools are able to read BLF files, but are not able to write them. My main usage of the tools is to convert commercial log formats to MATLAB files, but not in the other direction. If you really need this functionality in a commercial context on Windows, I suggest you to use the BLF library from Vector. It has a well documented API and is part of their tools (e.g. CANape). If you are able to develop open source writing functions, I would love to add them to cantools....

Dear Stefano, thank you for trying to use cantools. Unfortunately, the library doesn't support writing mdf files. Currently it is only able to read them (and convert the data to other formats). The reason is simply that I didn't have this use case yet (and don't have the time to implement this feature). Sorry for disappointing you. Kind regards, Andreas
