Yes, it happened with Java 12, I can confirm. I fixed it by downloading XStream 1.4.11.1 (change logs is Hot fix for XStream 1.4.11: Accidental breakage of Java runtimes %lt; 8.) and replacing launch4j/lib/xstream.jar by the one in the 1.4.11.1 release.
