I'd like to reiterate that the original game runs without these errors. 100%. It seems you can even drop the popular cracked.exe into the GoG folder, and it still runs flawlessly. Perhaps there is something here that can help us get to the bottom of the issue, something that might help with mouse scroll issues in other games. So it's something they've done to the updated version (GoG\Steam versions) that is causing these problems. Maybe there is a debugger, disassembler, or decompiler out there that...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mob_Rule Street Wars - Original CD Version: Runs fine, and can be made windowed and widescreen with DxWnd without errors. The main menu displays "No Network". Which I imagine is because it needs ipxwrapper to see the network properly. It's listed on the main page of http://www.solemnwarning.net/ipxwrapper/ , so it must be possible. Mob Rule Classic - Steam Version: Don't have it, and therefore cannot test it, but it's my understanding that it is identical to the GoG...

That tip for "View Flags" is incredibly helpful! I had noticed the .dxw files similarily showed which flags were on or not, but "View Flags" is by far easier to access and utilize. I don't know how I overlooked turning expert mode on in v2_04_85_build, could have sworn I looked for that, but no point downgrading back now. To do you one better than the pictures, I will share a video of a playthrough I recently did thanks to DxWnd. Everything displaying as intended, using my 16bit work around. Have...

I'm glad to bring it to your attention. It was a househould classic for me growing up. "Virtual CD audio" in the Sound tab did the trick for me. I am now able to play the game with music! Unfortunately the build I was using (v2_04_85_build) didn't have the 'Sound' tab, so I had to change to (v2_04_86_build). I also noticed that I had to use an export from my v2_04_85_build rather than the "Chaos Overlords.dxw" included with v2_04_86_build. Otherwise I was getting some strange graphical errors still....

    I turned on DxWnds logging, and found a repeated issue that all generally look something like this. mciSendCommand>>: MCI_STATUS cb=0 ret=212 item=4(MODE) track=2 mciSendCommand<<: MCI_STATUS cb=0 ret=212 item=4(MODE) track=2 mciSendCommand>>: MCI_STATUS cb=0 ret=212 item=1(LENGTH) track=2 mciSendCommand<<: MCI_STATUS cb=0 ret=212 item=1(LENGTH) track=2 mciSendCommand: ERROR res=262 Which I can only imagine is a CD audio issue, a brief Google search has showed similar problems in other games relating...

I've been trying to get the GOG version of this game working in a Windows 10 environment. For this game I have been using v2_04_85_build, with the export for Chaos Overlords that was included with this build. So far I have run into four problems. (1.) The game wouldn't launch. Well it would try to do some things in the background, but never properly launch, and required forced closing. This was easily fixed by simply checking 'Disable full-screen optimisations' in the Compatability tab under properties...
