Hey mark, a feature request here....well maybe two.
It would great if you could assign consistent version numbers for every release. Up to this point it probably hasn't much mattered, but recently we've been running into the problem of having different curators using different versions that are called the same thing. Perhaps we could do something like what John does for OBO-Edit, where we have beta versions until they've been debugged?
Also, a related request....(and I requested this for OBO-Edit too) could you display both the phenote version number (which you do already) and the file loaded at the top of the UI?
Thanks!

yea good point - i agree - we are at the point where phenotes really being used so we need to be a bit more stable - how bout this - when i do a release ill try not to keep adding to it - keep that stable (and if for some reason it needs a fix ill increment the 3rd digit in the release - ie 1.4.5 -> 1.4.6)
and then theres the webstart dev cutting edge version thats obviously not as stable as the release - so ill try to remember to increment the version number (3rd digit) for each time i update the webstart
so theyll be a link for webstart phenote 1.2 - when you 1st download it it might say 1.2.1 - and if i update it ill change that to 1.2.2 etcetera
maybe i should also append "dev" and "release" ?

this is all done except file not being displayed at top of ui
trying to be more consistent with versions now
amina- would be great as we gear up testing to implement this- its currently difficult to tell which version one is running.
thanks!

Phenote now shows the name of the currently loaded file in the window title. The version number can be seen using the "About" command.
