Duplicated entries on importing from Outlook

I think I've found out why some entries are duplicated
while others are not, on importing from Outlook. The
duplicated entries all contain one or more spaces at
the end of the subject or note section. I think KO/Pi
is stripping the spaces on saving the file, then when
the file is opened the entries appear to be different
to the imported data, giving rise to the duplication.

KO/Pi version 2.1.16 on Windows.
