#8 Kernel Oops on setting channel

Hi Guys,

I'm glad to see somebody working on drivers for this
chipset, however I have a slight issue... I get a
kernel oops, and have to reset the box as it causes a
kernel panic when trying to set a channel in iwconfig
on the card. I'm using a DWL-520+ with the files from
the winxp portion of the zip file (link on your howto),
with a fairly vanilla gentoo 2.4.20 kernel.

I was going to type the full error data, but I hit the
reset without thinking. I then modified the start_net
script, and commented out the CHAN variable, and my
network interface started like a dream, wireless
connection was perfect...

If you need any more detail, please drop me a note, and
I'll pull up what I can.

Thanks again.

I have encountered same problem after upgrading wireless-
tools package (to wireless-tools-23-119) on my SuSe7.3
    2.4.18-4GB box.

Same problem with Debian (woody) 2.4.18 & DWL 650+. I can
give you the stack if you want it since it is really easy to
    reproduce.

Since this is the typical OOPS case (crash on channel in
script) and since pre5 aimed to resolve these OOPS issues
and succeeded quite well (except for some probably unrelated
minor OOPS cases), I think we can close this now.
