When I import a resource (pdf, image etc) into BibDesk, it is autofiled and removed from my Downloads folder. I like this behavior.
When I import a citation (as a .bib file or .ris file that I downloaded from the internet), the file stays in my Downloads folder and I have to delete it manually. I don't like this behavior and would therefore suggest:

BibDesk could provide a preference setting "delete citation files after import", allowing me to choose the desired behavior.
