The editor status bar action menu and + button functions aren't duplicated in the main menu, so a user who accidentally hides the status bar can't add fields or use some of the other features. ISTR anything on an action menu is supposed to be a duplicate of the main menu, but I also don't see any reason to hide the editor status bar these days since the editor window is much shorter.

Did you reply to that email? Because he clearly did not discover groups yet.
And BTW, the status bar is shown by default.

This has happened before, though. Users hide it initially when playing around, and so never miss it.
I've removed the option to hide the status bar in the editor.
