This bug had been fixed, but has now reappeared. Letters ø (o with a slash through it) are not making it into the Latex. Also capital letters in math expressions, e.g., {$N^{9/2}$} are being converted to lower-case n.
I don't see this. What are the tex conversion and encoding preference settings? Also I really doubt whether the N is converted to lowercase n, as we never do that. is this in the TeX preview? Than it is a matter of the bibtex style and latex program.

Marking as pending for automatic close. I don't see this either, and character conversion hasn't changed for a very long time. I'd be surprised if any case conversions affect math mode.

Or is this about the generated PDF/Text from the latex previewer? Then it is just a matter of bibtex style.
