preferences settings

when in preferences paths tab, the browse button for "Path to Perl:" wouldn't open a dialog box to select a folder in addition, even by following the FAQ webpage for Fink Commander, it is not clear enough how to sort the problem given by Perl misconfiguration and preventing Fink Commander to show the package list table. ( it occurs only once during Fink installation , not fink commander installation , system's perl wouldn't be suitable for ports and apps using perl but, the fink distribution of perl instead is required when Fink is installed with 64bits only system setting. last but not least, system perl and fink perl (respectively /usr/bin and sw/bin) are both same version perl5.8.8 on a mac os X Leopard (10.5.8). take care, marc
