phppgadmin just uses your postgresql authentication method, so if your server is set up as "trust" (which sounds like it is) then we don't do anything special to override that. If there is something more to this please give us steps to reproduce, but otherwise it seems you should be adjusting your pg_hba.conf settings.
PS. There is no postgresql 1.0.074... perhaps you're using some proprietary redistribution?

I am sorry, this bug supposed to reported to VirtualAppliances PostgreSQL 1.0.074 (VMWARE).
Anyways, this is not phpPgAdmin Bug.
