What I would really like on !macros also is an option for
parameters to be optional. Like for example, a character
before the parameter name. I.e.:

!macro FUNCTION_STRING_StrStrAdv OutVar String
StrToSearch *SearchDirection

    There is even a better idea. I would like to suggest now to
    remove this !insertmacro error:

    !insertmacro: macro \"%s\" requires %d parameter(s),
    passed %d!\n

    This error blocks the customized error handling of
    parameters. Also, removing this would allow the use of
    optional parameters, just as I wanted.
