This is a split-off from a patch from Ignacio Martinez adding recovery from broken object info
response, as encountered in the Samsung Galaxy S2 (yeah, suxks...) with the info
from the same MTP properties.

MTP devices now started to actively ignore the PTP protocol, what can we do :-(

Let me know if it applies cleanly or needs rebasing.

i guess they just did not really test it well :/

i do not like the proliferation of flags wbhich we never can consciously remove again, let me think
of some conditions we can do runtime tests with.
