This is a major usability problem and makes it impossible to efficiently replace text box contents. Normally, I ctrl-A and replace the old text box. Now, I have to reach for the mouse and select all manually... Annoying!

Please submit against Tk, not Tcl. (Alas, if I migrate it then you'll find it difficult to track the progress of the issue due to limitations of the tracker system.)

Did this get lost? Having it in the wrong Tracker
is better than not having it.

Needs more detail though. What release of Tk
    has the problem?

It didn't get lost; it never got submitted. (I so miss the ability to migrate things.)

I *suspect* that the issue is that we bind Ctrl+A to start-of-line instead of select-all, and the submitter thinks we are very silly for doing this.
